Today I finished my EIGHTH root canal.
It will be a total of six visits from start of finish for this one tooth.

My last visit was another traumatic one. It left me shaking and sobbing for 20 minutes on the phone to my mom in the parking lot before I could drive home all splotchy faced to greet my in-laws. But today was different, thank heaven!

What I learned, and relearned, today:

I am a "strange" and "difficult" patient, or at least my teeth are.

Telling the dentist that the normal amount of local anesthesia isn't going to cut it for me doesn't convince them. Wincing, and crying in pain does. Today he didn't start until I had been given 6 shots!

Having a yucky head cold makes getting those pesky short roots even more difficult.

I'll never be too old to want my Mom beside me holding my hand!

Just when I don't think I can do it again, my family prays really hard for me and then I can.

The spirit can keep anxiety attacks at bay.

Once again, I am grateful for my teeth. And the sacrifices my parents and husband made/make to pay for them.
 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

AND Once again, It will never get any easier. I HATE going to the dentist!
