Talents and Hobbies: Abby is doing soccer again this Spring. She hasn't wanted to but it's the one social and physical activity Dan and I decided to enforce. She's had her rough days of not wanting to go but has also had some great games where she's been totally into it. She's got a really fun group of kids on her team and a very happy and positive coach. Abby is always singing or whistling! She dropped out of school chorus after December but is going to sing the National Anthem with them at the KES game soon. She has such a pretty and sweet singing voice and an ear for harmony. She is imaginative and still has that little girl desire to make believe. She loves babies and offers to help our neighbor by holding her baby any time she can. Abby loves to bake.

Cousins are the best: An answer to my prayers came with the Ken Breinholt family came to visit. Ashley and Kaylee were so good with Abby. Ashley and Abby spent most of their time singing together and reenacting "The Greatest Show". Abby was in heaven. Before they left they decided to become pen-pals. Ashley has written two sweet letters to Abby so far. Man I wish these cousins could be a part of our lives on a daily basis.

Creativity: Abby’s created the game for FHE. Here is her board game:

(The squares that have writing on them say...) When you’re born, your first day at school, you run into a homeless guy, you get in a fight, you’re scared from middle school, you get in the way your toy to a poor guy, you steal something, go to church, learn something new, get a boyfriend when you’re 18, Sing-a-Song, go to college, meet a good person, get married, have twins named Bob and Joe, pick a job,  house time, grocery shopping, church, FHE, move time,  meet a famous person, 49 years later, go to heaven.

I went on my first field trip with Abigail recently (thanks to finally being diagnosed with Celiacs Disease and getting my stomach under control) to the Frederick Airport.

Abby has really struggled with the social environment at school. I am grateful she has a fantastic teacher this year who has been patient and very positive with Abby. There has been difficult girl drama and behaviors she's had to learn how to handle.   I think a lot of this has led to some of her new behavior and emotions.  I am proud of the progress she has made to overcome her anxiety over leaving home and me and being at school. It has been difficult. But with lots of prayer, patience, prayer, and love we are navigating through it.
